Synthetic
Oil - The first task was to drain the Oil Tank ready for the new Synthetic
Oil (Only £9.75 per litre - it's a long story). So according to gospel
of St Haynes.. remove the air filter (very clean), remove 4 retaining bolts
for the Oil Tank, hence the impact driver.. (Then remove the seat to remove
the last bolt that they don't tell you about..) Removed and flushed the tank with Petrol (Where can I find some Petrol.. Sorry I did think that..), Filled and bled everything , twice then again just to check.. and again to be sure.. Note for Simon - I know you would have just have removed the bottom clip on the Oil Tank, drained it and flushed with Petrol from the tank then refilled with Synthetic Oil. Bled the Oil Pump job done. 15Mins Max... But think of the fun you missed.. |
| Tighten
- The carb was very loose (!) on the inlet manifold so I nip that up. I stowed the spare replacement Sparking Plug and spanner in the side panel (No more pushing) Also checked the tyre pressures, now 24 front 27 rear.. The battery needs a cable tie to stop it rattling in 3G turns. The exhaust to cylinderhead was leaking but that needs a C spanner. The Speedo had stopped working so I checked the drive.. Nothing.. Things for Part Two, dear reader.. Things for Part Two.. Right - Gratuitous Oil Pump closeup shot.. |
